Modern identity, connected to everything your team uses
Most businesses have outgrown on-premise authentication servers. Managing them takes daily effort, they are hard to scale, and they leave gaps that attackers look for. Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) moves identity and access management to the cloud, so one secure login covers Microsoft 365, your SaaS tools, and your internal apps.
Pulse Software Solutions LLC integrates Entra ID across your environment. We connect your applications, including custom software we build and the off-the-shelf tools you already run, set up single sign-on and multi-factor authentication, and tie it all back to your existing directory. If your identity still lives on-premise, we handle the cloud migration with no disruption to users.
We are based in Denver, Colorado and serve businesses across the United States. PSS has migrated and connected a large number of organizations to cloud identity, and we manage the full process so your team keeps working while the switch happens behind the scenes.
Core Entra ID Integration Capabilities
Six areas we cover in an Entra ID integration. We deliver them as a complete setup or pick the pieces that close the biggest gaps first.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Connect every app to one login. We wire up SAML and OpenID Connect so employees sign in once and reach Microsoft 365, SaaS, and internal tools without juggling passwords.
MFA & Conditional Access
Add multi-factor authentication and risk-based policies from one control plane. Pair it with proactive threat protection to block sign-ins from unexpected locations or devices.
Application Integration
Bring your full app portfolio under Entra ID, including custom apps and SaaS platforms. We handle the system integrations and token configuration that make them trust your tenant.
User Provisioning & Lifecycle
Automate onboarding and offboarding with SCIM provisioning. New hires get the right access on day one, and departing users lose it the moment they leave.
Hybrid Identity & Directory Sync
Keep your on-premise Active Directory in sync with Entra ID using Entra Connect. Legacy directory-aware apps that need domain join, LDAP, NTLM, or Kerberos keep working through Domain Services.
Identity Governance & Access Reviews
Enforce least privilege with role-based access control, scheduled access reviews, and clear audit trails. Access stays accurate as roles and teams change.
Why businesses move to Entra ID
The payoff shows up in security, in IT workload, and in the day-to-day experience for every employee.
- Retire on-premise authentication servers and the daily maintenance they demand
- Give employees one secure login across Microsoft 365, SaaS, and internal apps
- Apply MFA and conditional access policies consistently from a single control plane
- Support legacy directory-aware apps with domain join, LDAP, NTLM, and Kerberos, no domain controllers required
- Run on a high-availability service hosted in globally distributed data centers
- Onboard and offboard users in minutes with automated provisioning
What we handle in an Entra ID integration
From the first tenant setup to the apps your team logs into every day, we own the technical work and keep you in the loop at each step.
- Tenant setup, branding, and configuration
- Single sign-on connections for your full app portfolio
- MFA and conditional access policy design
- On-premise Active Directory sync with Entra Connect
- Automated user provisioning and deprovisioning
Our Entra ID Integration Process
A predictable, low-risk path from your current setup to a connected, secure identity platform. Each step has a clear owner, a checkpoint, and a rollback plan.
Identity Assessment and Discovery
We map your current directory, apps, and sign-in methods, then document where access lives and where the gaps are.
You get a clear roadmap and scope before any change is made.
Tenant and Directory Configuration
We set up or tune your Entra ID tenant, configure domains and branding, and prepare directory sync if you run on-premise Active Directory.
Naming, group structure, and policies are agreed up front so the foundation is right.
Single Sign-On and App Connection
We connect your applications through SAML and OpenID Connect, starting with the tools your team uses most.
Each app is tested for sign-in, sign-out, and correct user attributes before it goes live.
MFA and Conditional Access Setup
We roll out multi-factor authentication and build conditional access policies tuned to your risk tolerance and how your people actually work.
Policies are staged and piloted so security goes up without locking anyone out.
Provisioning and Governance
We automate user lifecycle with provisioning rules, set role-based access, and schedule access reviews.
Onboarding and offboarding become repeatable instead of manual.
Testing, Cutover, and Ongoing Support
We validate every connection, cut over on an agreed schedule, and stay on as your cloud and DevOps partner.
Monitoring, policy tuning, and support continue after go-live so the platform keeps pace with your business.
Whether you are connecting a handful of apps or rebuilding identity across the company, we scope the work to your timeline and budget, and we keep your team productive throughout.
Flexible Engagement Models
Start small or go end to end. These four models cover most needs, and we will tailor the scope to your environment.
Identity Assessment
A focused audit of your current directory, apps, and policies, with a prioritized roadmap and cost estimate. A low-risk way to start.
SSO + MFA Rollout
The fastest security win. We connect your core apps to single sign-on and roll out multi-factor authentication across your team.
Full Integration
End-to-end setup: SSO across your full app portfolio, hybrid directory sync, automated provisioning, and governance.
Managed Identity
Ongoing administration, monitoring, policy tuning, and scheduled access reviews so your identity platform stays healthy.
FAQs
What is Microsoft Entra ID, and how is it different from Azure AD?
They are the same product. In 2023 Microsoft renamed Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to Microsoft Entra ID. The capabilities you knew under the Azure AD name, single sign-on, MFA, conditional access, and directory services, all carry over. If your team still says Azure AD, that is fine, it is the same platform.
Do we have to move everything to the cloud, or can we keep our on-premise Active Directory?
You can keep it. Many businesses run a hybrid setup where on-premise Active Directory stays in place and syncs to Entra ID through Entra Connect. We can also use Domain Services so cloud-hosted servers behave like they are domain-joined. We will recommend the model that fits your apps and your timeline.
Will Entra ID work with our older line-of-business apps that need LDAP, NTLM, or Kerberos?
Yes. Through Microsoft Entra Domain Services, legacy directory-aware apps can use domain join, LDAP, NTLM, and Kerberos without you having to deploy and maintain domain controllers. That lets you modernize identity while older applications keep running.
How does single sign-on improve security if everyone uses one login?
One login means one strongly protected login. With SSO, that single identity is guarded by MFA and conditional access, so a stolen password alone is not enough to get in. Microsoft reports that MFA blocks over 99.9% of account compromise attacks. It also removes the password sprawl and reuse that cause most breaches.
Can you connect our custom and SaaS applications to Entra ID?
Yes. We connect both off-the-shelf SaaS tools and custom applications using SAML and OpenID Connect. If an app needs new endpoints or APIs to support modern sign-in, our compliance and engineering teams build and test them as part of the integration.
Do you provide support after the integration is live?
Yes. We offer ongoing administration, monitoring, and policy tuning, and we coordinate with your disaster recovery plan so identity is covered if anything goes wrong. You can hand off day-to-day management to us or keep it in-house with us on call.
