The Task

Ascaso are Italian manufacturers of exclusive, handmade coffee machines. Their UK distributor, EPE International, required a website where owners could register their machine’s warranty, purchase accessories and spares and make service requests. The site needed to reflect the premier quality of the iconic Ascaso Dream espresso machine and also be straightforward to use and to administer.

The Solution

www.clubascaso.com was developed using the open source DotNetNuke platform. It incorporates the award winning Pulse DNN shopping cart for the sale of coffee, coffee making accessories and spare parts. The site benefits from a full content management system accessed via the admin panel.

A number of custom modules were developed. The registration module enables owners to register all their machines and record purchase dates for warranty purposes. Registered visitors can make purchases from the Compliments section or book machine services and inspections.

The competition module is easily managed from the administration panel with the competition entries being automatically marked by the system.

Treat Yourself is an indexed recipe section of coffee related treats, with the content and images managed via the admin panel.

Club Ascaso offers barista training from the very experience Jon Skinner, one of only 25 UK Barista Championship judges. Visitors can view course details and book courses.

The site also has a useful store locator for stockists of the Ascaso range with a postcode search facility.

Club Ascaso is promoted via Facebook, Twitter and Myspace pages and links to these are incorporated into the site.
